Terms and Conditions
Terms for accommodation services at Páter Apartmanok és Szobák — for bookings made online and for bookings based on an emailed offer.

2. Scope and language
These Terms apply to the accommodation contract between the Service Provider and the guest (the Guest), whether it is concluded through the website booking engine or on the basis of an emailed offer. The contract language is Hungarian; other language versions are translations for information, and the Hungarian text prevails. Hungarian law applies, in particular Act V of 2013 on the Civil Code, Act CVIII of 2001 on electronic commerce services and consumer protection legislation.
Under Section 29(1)(l) of Government Decree 45/2014 (II. 26.), consumers have no 14-day right of withdrawal for accommodation booked for specific dates; cancellation is governed by section 6.
The choice of law and priority of the Hungarian text do not limit mandatory consumer protection applicable to the Guest. The withdrawal exception for dated accommodation is separate from the contractual free-cancellation window before arrival in section 6.
3. Prices
Prices are gross prices in Hungarian forints, per unit and night, according to the rate table and the discounts shown at the time of booking. The booking price includes use of the accommodation, final cleaning and use of the pool.
Paid extras: pet HUF 3,500 per pet per night, up to 2 pets per room or apartment; courtyard parking HUF 5,000 per vehicle per night (max. 6 cars; a courtyard space booked on the website together with the stay is guaranteed without separate approval); Glatz car park HUF 3,500 per vehicle per night. Booked extras are part of the booking price.
Tourist tax (in Siófok HUF 750 per person per night from 1 January 2026 under Siófok municipal decree 17/2022 (X. 28.); persons under 18 are exempt — Act C of 1990 on local taxes, Section 31, which lists further exemptions) is not part of the booking price or of the advance payment; it is collected on arrival.
Gross charges include the taxes applicable to the service; no VAT is added on top. Tourist tax is shown separately. For stays in another year, the local tax rate and exemptions in force for that period apply; the 2026 figure is not a fixed rate for 2027.
4. Booking process and conclusion of the contract
Online booking. The Guest selects dates, number of guests, room(s) and extras and enters their details. Before submitting, the system shows the total booking price, the advance payment and its due date, the payment methods and the cancellation terms; details can be corrected with the “Back” buttons. The Guest must accept these Terms and the booking conditions. Pressing “Book with obligation to pay” is an offer; if the rooms are available the system confirms the booking immediately on screen and by email. The contract is concluded by that confirmation. Confirmation does not mean the advance payment has been received; the payment status is shown in the Guest’s account and in the downloadable confirmation.
For dates shown as available on the website, the booking is made without separate approval by the Service Provider.
Emailed offer. An offer sent by the Service Provider is not a booking. The contract is concluded by the Service Provider’s separate booking confirmation email after the Guest accepts the offer.
The contract is recorded electronically with a booking reference, available in the confirmation email and — if registered — in the Guest’s account. If the confirmation email does not arrive within 24 hours, please let us know.
An acknowledgement is received when it becomes accessible to the Guest. If electronic acknowledgement of receipt of an online order does not become accessible within the reasonably expected time, and at the latest within 48 hours of submission, the Guest is released from the offer or contractual obligation (Act CVIII of 2001, section 6). Asking the Guest to contact us after 24 hours does not restrict this right.
5. Payment
Advance payment: 50% of the total booking price (including booked paid extras, excluding tourist tax). It is an advance payment and not an earnest-money deposit (“foglaló”) under Section 6:185 of the Hungarian Civil Code.
Due date (standard booking): the end of the 4th working day after the booking confirmation (23:59; working days are Monday to Friday, excluding Hungarian public holidays and rest days, including transferred working days; Budapest time). Short-notice booking: if the arrival day is no later than the standard due date (arrival falls on or before that day), the advance payment is due within 2 hours of booking.
Paying the advance: bank transfer, or an OTP, K&H or MBH SZÉP card. With a SZÉP card the Guest pays the amount shown in the booking confirmation themselves, using the card issuer’s own advance-payment facility; the acceptance-location names and issuer information are set out in the Booking conditions. The Service Provider does not request or handle SZÉP card numbers, codes or passwords; choosing a SZÉP card or opening an issuer link does not count as payment. For a SZÉP card advance, the time of the transaction successfully completed with the issuer and verified by the Service Provider counts: if it took place by the deadline, the payment was made on time, even if the amount reaches the Service Provider’s bank account later. The advance is paid once the verified payments reach the advance amount (for instalments, the time of the completing payment counts). The balance is paid on arrival by cash, bank card or SZÉP card. No payment is taken on the website. Payment status is recorded manually from verified payments; the transaction-time rule above applies to SZÉP cards. A booking confirmation alone is not proof of payment.
If the advance payment is not received by the due date, the booking is not cancelled automatically and the accommodation is not released. For a standard booking the Service Provider sends a written payment notice giving a further 24 hours from when it is sent; short-notice bookings have no further period. A booking with an unpaid advance may be cancelled only by the Service Provider, manually — after the 24-hour grace period for a standard booking, or after the 2-hour deadline for a short-notice booking — and the Guest is notified in writing. If no payment was received by the time of a cancellation for non-payment, the Guest pays no cancellation fee and no other payment obligation arises. If a partial advance was received, the Service Provider reviews its settlement individually and informs the Guest of the outcome in writing.
Individual settlement of a partial advance does not create an unrestricted right to retain it. The Service Provider explains the legal basis and amount in writing, and the Guest may dispute them. The 50% guest-cancellation fee does not automatically apply to cancellation by the Service Provider for non-payment. Settlement and any set-off are governed by the Hungarian Civil Code.
6. Cancellation, no-show, refunds
Cancellations must be made in writing, by email (patersiofok@hotmail.com). The time of cancellation is when the email is received (Budapest time).
- A cancellation received by 23:59 on the 14th calendar day before arrival is free; the advance payment is refunded in full within 14 calendar days of receipt of the cancellation. (Example: for arrival on 15 October, free until 23:59 on 1 October; the fee applies from 00:00 on 2 October.)
- For a cancellation received later, and for a no-show, the cancellation fee is 50% of the total booking price, whether or not the advance payment has been received. Amounts already paid are credited against the fee; any shortfall is payable and any excess is refunded. The other 50% of the price is not charged. (Example for a HUF 100,000 booking: with HUF 50,000 paid nothing more is due; with HUF 20,000 paid HUF 30,000 is due; with nothing paid HUF 50,000 is due.)
The Service Provider does not charge cards or start collection automatically. Refunds are made in a way compatible with the original payment method; for SZÉP card payments the refund route depends on the card issuer’s procedure; this does not affect the refund obligation or its deadline. The fee above does not apply to a cancellation by the Service Provider (for non-payment or other reasons). If the Service Provider cancels the booking for a reason other than non-payment, it refunds the full amount paid by the Guest within 14 calendar days of the cancellation.
Cancellation ends the booking but does not mean immediate deletion of personal data: data of a cancelled booking is processed for the periods stated in the Privacy Notice.
Date changes are accommodated where possible. Registered Guests can move their booking in their account up to 14 days before the original arrival if the new dates are free; the price is then recalculated. There is no self-service cancellation or automatic refund.
A refund does not exclude further claims available to the Guest under applicable law. Liability, impossibility of performance and any damages are governed by the Hungarian Civil Code. These Terms do not provide a blanket exclusion of liability, including for force majeure.
7. Arrival and departure
Check-in: 14:00–20:00; check-out: 07:00–10:00. There is no reception; keys are handed over in person and the arrival time must be agreed in advance. Arrival after 20:00 is free of charge by prior arrangement.
Subject to availability, on prior request (not bookable online): early check-in from 12:00, HUF 7,000; late check-out until 12:00 HUF 7,000, until 15:00 HUF 14,000; extra bed HUF 10,000 per person per night, only within the unit’s permitted capacity. An extra bed cannot be requested or booked on the website: the Guest contacts the Service Provider directly (patersiofok@hotmail.com, +36 30 476 0210), and an extra bed is only agreed once the Service Provider confirms it.
8. House rules, liability
Quiet hours: 22:00–08:00. Smoking only on the designated terrace. Parties and loud events are not allowed. Pets by prior arrangement. Groups of more than 10 pay a security deposit of HUF 10,000 per person, returned on departure if everything is in order. The Guest is liable for damage under the Civil Code. Full house rules: Conditions.
9. Guest registration
Under Section 9/H of Hungarian Act CLVI of 2016 on the state tasks of developing tourism regions, on check-in the Service Provider records the Guest’s personal data specified by law and the identifying data of the Guest’s identity document in its property management software and transmits them to the designated storage (VIZA). The Guest must present the document for this purpose; without it the Service Provider must refuse the accommodation service. For guests under 14, the data may be recorded on the basis of their representative’s statement, without a document. Details: Privacy Notice.
10. Complaints and redress
Complaints can be made by email (patersiofok@hotmail.com), phone (+36 30 476 0210) or post (8600 Siófok, Kinizsi Pál utca 11.). Written complaints are answered within 30 days.
Consumers may turn to the Baranya County Conciliation Body (covering Baranya, Somogy and Tolna counties; 7625 Pécs, Majorossy Imre u. 36.; info@baranyabekeltetes.hu; +36 72 507 154; www.baranyabekeltetes.hu), to the consumer protection authority or to the courts. The EU online dispute resolution (ODR) platform closed on 20 July 2025.
Oral complaints are examined immediately and remedied where possible. Otherwise, or if the Guest disagrees, we draw up minutes and provide a copy as required by law. Written complaints receive a substantive, verifiable written response within 30 days; rejection is explained. Before conciliation, consumers must try to resolve the dispute directly with us. They may apply to the body competent for their residence or place of stay and choose another body where permitted by law. We cooperate in conciliation. Access to the courts remains available.
11. Data protection
See the Privacy Notice. Processing needed to perform the booking is not based on consent; newsletter subscription is optional and consent-based.
12. Changes
The Service Provider may amend these Terms; changes do not affect contracts already concluded. The accepted version is recorded with each booking.
